Surf lifesaving members turned out in their thousands this morning to remember Queenscliff under-19 competitor Saxon Bird who drowned while competing at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships on Friday.

The 2010 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships has been suspended indefinitely while event organisers consider alternative options available to them.

 
Further event notification will be issued tomorrow at 10.00am (Qld time) after a decision is made as to whether the event will continue.
